- 20 Lacs Crores: A biggest economic package announced ever
(www.arya-tv.com)On 12.5.2020 , Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a Rs 20 lakh crore package in order to revive the economy, which is combined the government’s recent announcements rolled out by the Reserve Bank of India. This package is equivalent to 10% of the total GDP of India. PM Modi also said that centre will enforce a fourth lockdown- with a lot of modifications. The details of the fourth lockdown will be communicated by May 18, said Modi. He termed it as the ‘Atma Nirbhar Abhiyan’ Package.
He also hinted at big-ticket economic reforms in coming days and also announced the economic package will be given in detail by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman starting tomorrow.
The package will help to improve business of mid scale as well as large scale entities, attract investment and strengthen our Make in India Mission, reiterated Modi. The Special economic package will have emphasis on land, labour, liquidity and laws.
On the contrary, the novel coronavirus has brought a new opportunity for India by helping it upgrade its existing health infrastructure and helps in cleaning the environment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his third address to the nation during the Covid-19 lockdown. Prime Minister stated, he held a video-conference with chief ministers on the Covid-19 situation. PM Modi also said in the meeting that states will have greater say in determining the extent of restrictions and relaxations after May 17. The country is in the third phase of lockdown which will end on May 17.
As on date, India’s Covid-19 count has reached 70,746, while the number of deaths due to the infection stood at 2,292. Maharashtra, with 23,392 confirmed cases is the worst-affected so far and Gujarat is second largest affected state with 8,491 cases
